George V Oak Government Desk, c.1930


This is a vintage 1930s, George V Government Desk dating to c.1930.
Crafted in the finest English oak, robust and extremely sturdy, this desk retains the original Rexine skiver in remarkable condition given it's age.
Raised on tapering square section legs, the desk features a central kneehole with shaped apron flanked by a pair of full depth drawers each side dressed with classic brass cup pulls each stamped 'G.R.' with a crown. Beneath is stamped 'G.R. B C'
The oak displays the original patina with every mark and knock from that turbulent time in history.
An historic piece of interest yet still a very practical piece, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
