A quality English twin fusee Georgian bracket antique clock. A mahogany case with arched pediment surmounted by a cast handle. Brass fishscale side fretwork and standing on bun feet. A cast brass bezel to the painted dial signed 'Joseph Blake, Bristol'. Satinwood case inlays and edging. A double fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell. Circa 1825.
Joseph Blake of Bristol is recorded in AJ Moores' 'Clockmakers of Bristol' book as working at Back st. in 1814 and Temple Street 1818-1830.
