This is rare find
Georgian period c1800 - 1820.
Double sided oils on panel.
The main front oil painting of a distinguished gentleman in period clothes, wonderfully executed
and clearly painted by an accomplished hand.
The unsuspecting person admiring the portrait on your wall would never know it held a naughty secret.
To the reverse is another oil painting of a nude maiden seated amongst a foliage landscape.
I would say this painting is of a later period than the gentleman, late 19th Century.
Somewhat in the impressionist manner, loosely painted and of good quality.
Period, original mahogany veneered frame.
