Georgian Inlaid Walnut Chest of 3 Over 3 Drawers
This lovely antique chest of drawers dates from c.1810. It is constructed from what we believe to be solid walnut with satinwood string inlay, although please note that we are not 100% sure of the wood type. The chest consists of three small drawers over three long graduated drawers. The drawers have attractive replacement brass handles and escutcheons, and all the locks are present, although please note that there is no key. The chest is supported on lovely ogee bracket feet.
Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the chest is overall faded. There are some signs of old restoration and repair to the woodwork, and as is mentioned above the handles and escutcheons have been replaced at some point. There is some wood shrinkage cracking to the right-hand side and to the bottom drawer base. There is a small area of wood loss to the frame below the bottom drawer.
