Fine quality George 1 inlaid walnut escritoire.
the flared cornice over cushion moulded frieze drawer with hinged wonderfully decorative inlaid fall front enclosing eighteen varying sized drawers arranged around a central cupboard with four further drawers within, all oak lined with original drop handles, the base with two short and two long drawers, again oak lined with original handles and standing on bun feet, substantial iron carrying handles to both the top and bottom on each side.
with normal shrinkage and signs of wear and tear commensurate with a piece of such great age, this fabulous escritoire really is a most handsome piece with a very pleasing colour and patina and is in overall very good condition and really is not done justice by the photographs.
