Fine qulaity Georgian mahogany longcase clock with 8 day movement by John Archer of Liverpool c.1780. Brass face with rolling moon, silvered chapeter ring with roman numerals, finely chased dial centre, crisply cast spandrels and featuring a rare 'sweep' second hand. The case is of particularly good quality with corinthium columns, blind fretwork and delightful carved masonry base. Solid mahogany sides, the door and base panel feature matched bookleaf veneers laid onto oak groundwork. In excellent condition. The works have been cleaned and overhauled and are sold with a 12 month guarentee.
