A handsome antique George III mahogany blanket chest. With fancy brass escutcheon and old steel lock it has wonderful solid brass carry handles to the sides and the lid lifts to reveal a lined interior. With good colour and patina to the well-figured mahogany, it is an elegant piece that would grace any room, perfect to use as a coffee table with added storage. Possibly Northern Irish in origin it has a stamp to the lining “William Millar Temple Moll Antrim” with an Irish harp.
