Description:
This is a fine quality English George IV mahogany armchair, with a newly upholstered seat, circa 1825, in excellent condition. The chair is constructed from solid mahogany and features a curved bar back, with a foliate carved horizontal central splat, secured by scroll shaped arms. The stuff-over seat has been newly upholstered in top quality luxurious pale gold floral pattern cotton & structured silk brocade upholstery, with matching braiding. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seat in a fabric of your choice, for an additional £40. The seat has also been professionally re-stuffed and re-webbed. The underside of the seat is finished with traditional hessian backing. The seat is firm but extremely comfortable to sit on. The chair stands on fine fluted, turned legs at the front and sabre legs to the rear.
The chair boasts a rich brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a lovely colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
The chair would look superb in the hallway, office or library. It would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

This chair is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, chair frame and legs, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The stuff-over seat has been newly upholstered in top quality luxurious pale gold floral pattern cotton & structured silk brocade upholstery. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seat in a fabric of your choice, for an additional £40. The seat has also been professionally re-stuffed and re-webbed. The underside of the seat is finished with traditional hessian backing. The seat is firm, but it is extremely comfortable to sit on. Therefore, the seat is in excellent clean condition. The chair frame has been traditionally French polished and boasts a lovely colour and patination. There is no damage or missing carvings to the chair frame. The chair sits firm on the ground and does not wobble. It is well built and heavy which is a sign of quality it is solid in joint and ready to use.
