Georgian Mahogany Night Stand Bedside Cabinet
This is a good Georgian nightstand or bedside cabinet. It is made in solid mahogany and dates to around 1800. The nightstand is very elegant. The design, like that of all Georgian antique furniture, is very simple and uncluttered. There is real elegance in this simplicity. The nightstand has butler's tray handles and delightful shaped corners. It stands on stile legs with a cupboard and drawer below. The drawer retains its original brass 'mask' drawer pull. A piece of shaped glass has been made to sit on top so it is very usable as a bedside cabinet. The cupboard has lock and key.
The cabinet is in good solid condition. No sign of worm. Cracks to top - see photo and side - see photo, all as you would expect in a piece this old.
This is a really good period bedside. It will look good in a bedroom furnished in antiques or vintage, especially in mahogany.
The nightstand is 31 inches high and 19.5 inches wide and 17 inches deep.
