Georgian Mahogany Tripod Wine Lamp Table Side

Occasionally you get to handle something that is pure class. You become a reluctant seller!! It doesn't have to be an expensive item but you know instinctively that it is just the most wonderful example of its type. This table is that piece.
The wine table is made in solid mahogany. It is late Georgian, early Victorian, dating to around 1930 - 1840. The wine table has a broad mahogany top and this top is as true as the day it was made without a warp in sight.
The table stands on a turned column and the columns shape and contours are in perfect balance with the proportions of the table. It stands on a triform base, the legs curved, without being over heavy. It is such a simple design but there is real elegance in its simplicity.
The table is in wonderful condition. No damage or repair. No worm and the mahogany has that reddie gold you want to see in period mahogany. It's delightful.
The table is all original. Underneath is the label of the very posh Glasgow antique dealers Muirhead Moffat, Glasgow. I would imagine that they had bought this and retailed it around 1910, so even back then they knew it was a very good period piece. Incidentally, Muirhead Moffat and Co are still going!!
If you are looking for a top drawer furnishing piece for little money then this is it and I will envy the buyer!!
The wine table is 28 inches high and the top is 24 inches in diameter.
