This is a very fine gilt brass mounted verge bracket clock of smaller than usual size and will date circa 1780.
The double fusee movement retains its original verge escapement and has an edge engraved back plate It strikes the hours on a bell with pull repeat and strike silent facility in the arch.
The inverted bell top case has canted corners to the edges and glazed sides and doors . It is surmounted by a brass carrying handle
The7 inch arched silvered brass chapter ring and spandrel dial has a smooth centre . The clock is in perfect working order having being restored by a master clockmaker
The dial is in excellent condition with a lovely patina . .
As can be seen from the images this clock is in excellent condition throughout and is ready to be displayed in the home.The mahogany case uses the finest veneers case and has a lovely colour and finish .It will delight the most discerning client.
This clock is only 19 3/4 inches tall (handle up). 18 1/4 handle down .The width is 10 1/2 inches and the depth 7 .
