Description:
Here is a fine quality and practical antique Georgian mahogany cupboard, decorated with flame mahogany, boxwood and ebony inlay, circa 1820, in excellent condition. This Georgian mahogany cupboard has been adapted from a larger Georgian bookcase at some point in the past. The cupboard features an attractive boxwood & ebony inlaid protruding cornice above four working doors, which are constructed with flame mahogany panels, with boxwood string inlay and cross-banded borders. The right-hand doors incorporate working brass lever locks with key and the left-hand doors retain the original brass locking latches. Inside, there are six height adjustable shelves, which can also be removed if necessary. The Georgian mahogany cupboard sits on a plinth with bracket feet. The back of the cupboard retains its original pine backboards. This is a single piece Georgian mahogany cupboard and is ideal for storing all types of items out of sight.
This Georgian mahogany cupboard boats a mellow mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This Georgian mahogany cupboard would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the office, library or living room. It would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional.
