A wonderful example of a Georgian antique jewellery or trinket box. The top is parquetry inlaid with a tumbling block design in a multitude of exotic timbers, edged with a dog tooth border. The rest of the box is all in bur yew with a boxwood stringing. The whole has a great untouched patina but the wood colours are still vibrant. The interior is lined in the original pink paper. The whole looks like it has just been picked up out of the Georgian period. A fine example of the type in wonderful untouched condition with a working key. C.1810.
