Gold case, 52.75 mm
Verge movement
A fine quality London verge, in a rose gold case, by an excellent London maker.
MOVEMENT : Fine quality gilded verge fusee movement, with blued screws, diamond endstone and removable gilt brass dustcap. Both movement and dustcap are fully signed and numbered (7532).
A stop lever on the side of the case at 4 slides to stop and restart the movement.
There are some scratches on the top plate, but otherwise in good condition and running well.
DIAL : Cream enamel dial with subsidiary seconds. Almost perfect condition, with just a very light and short hairline on the edge at 11. Gold hands with blued steel seconds hand.
There are a couple of light scratches on the crystal, but otherwise fine.
CASE : Hallmarks for 18ct gold, London, 1812, maker WM. Good condition throughout, with just some very light bruises and an old repair to the base of the bow. The hinges are a little worn, but both the back cover and front bezel shut nicely The crystal is fine.
The gold case (including crystal) weighs 51 gms.
George Yonge (1776 to 1832) is listed at The Strand, London. He was Clockmaker to the Lord High Admiral in London between 1820 and 1828. Free worldwide postage.
