Grand Antique Dressing Table, Scottish, Satinwood
This is a grand antique dressing table. A Scottish, satinwood bedroom vanity stand with mirror by Taylor & Sons of Edinburgh, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1890.
Impressive proportion and figuring to this striking dressing table
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Superb satinwood stocks displaying fascinating grain interest
Warm biscuit hues beam beneath a quality wax polish finish
Appealing arrangement with a generous central mirror, framed by a pair of small drawers
Distinctive tri-point brackets adorn the frame of the upper drawers
Original mirror plate with quality bevelled edge presents a clear reflection with minimal foxing
Wide table top beautifully figured, with ample space for cosmetic sets and brushes
Spacious base with large under tier and a pair of wide drawers
Each drawer dressed with drop handles over pierced backplates
Carved brackets adorn each corner with attractive scroll detail
Riding upon a set of four brass castors at each corner beneath turned baluster legs
Maker's mark to the reverse for John Taylor and Sons, Edinburgh
