Great Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Monumental oil artwork on canvas of exceptional quality depicting the biblical story of Moses and the copper serpent. As the Israelites cross the desert they forget about the lord and complain. God then sent him snakes to help them be humble and remember him. Many people died and the lord told Moses to make a serpent of brass and tie it to a pole. When people were bitten and looked at the snake the lord saved them because he wanted them to trust him. Painting that develops vertically with many characters inserted in different levels of perspective space, ideal for inclusion in a large living room or study. Painting for antique dealers and collectors of large-scale and high-period paintings. Artwork adorned with a thin wooden frame, with some signs of aging (see photo). Painting that underwent restoration with relining, replacement of the frame and restoration of color in some places during the 20th century. Overall in good state of conservation.
