A superb mid-century sideboard / credenza, designed by Grete Jalk (1920 - 2006) for the P. Olsen Sibast factory and originally retailed by Heals, London.

This iconic piece, finished in beautiful book-matched teak veneers features two narrow drawers (each inset with the exquisite 'cat's eye' pulls), and set over a glorious, long tambour front. This opens to reveal a wonderfully contrasting interior of bright sycamore.

This sideboard, known as the 'Model 41', dates to 1958.

The back panel is badged 'Sebast Furniture - Made in Denmark' and is indistinctly stamped 'No 41'. The right-hand drawer still displays the original 'HEAL'S EXCLUSIVE DESIGN' label.

Wonderful, rich honey and caramel hues throughout.

A most elegant and functional piece of antique furniture and a first-rate example from the 'Danish Modern' design era.

Condition -

Generally very good. This sideboard has had over half a century of use so please expect some signs of use and wear. Please call or email for an exact condition report. Thank you.

Note - Whilst the legs themselves are totally original, the shaped brackets into which they screw are later. This has been completed to a high standard and the sideboard is solid and sits completely square and true.
