This wonderful fully hallmarked Edwardian locket is ornmented with such delightful and romantic motifs. The anterior surface is fitted with a hinged lid which opens to reveal two recesses which are suitable to hold two portraits or photographs. The original frame is in place. The hinged lid is embellished with a scroll cartouche framed by acanthus leaves, which also grace the both sides of the fob locket. Two engraved forget-me-not flowers and a single ivy leaf are shown in fine detail.

The scroll symbolises wisdom. Acanthus leaves convey the desire for everlasting life. Forget-me-nots flowers convey deep love and respect. Ivy has been used to portray strong bonds, fidelity and everlasting love since ancient times.

Suspended from an elegant 18 inch 9 carat gold belcher chain necklace this piece would make the most cherished keepsake gift.
