A Hamilton GS Tropicalized military wristwatch. A black dial with lume hands and dial markers and a sweep seconds hand. A stainless steel case with the case back markings showing 'Tropicalized 75003-3' and K.A for the Kenyan Army issue with the broad arrow mark. A caliber S76S manual wind mechanism. Circa 1960's
Case Width 36 mm.
They are specially designed to withstand the harsh conditions of tropical climates, including high humidity, heat, and exposure to saltwater. Originally water resistance, corrosion-resistant materials, luminous dials and hands to ensure optimal visibility in various lighting conditions. These characteristics led the watch to be used by the British, US, Canadian along with other Commonwealth and diplomatic forces in operations all around the world. This specific watch was issued to the Kenyan Defence forces which included the Army, Air force and Navy.
