Hardley of Dursley Cottage Longcase Clock
A small Gloucestershire Georgian 'cottage' longcase clock. A well proportioned oak case with a flat top pediment with fretwork. A long trunk door and raised base panel. An attractive square painted dial with Georgian shell and fan corners with original gold leaf. 5 minute outer dial markers and a date aperture. A 30 hour duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.
Mark Hardley of Dursley is recorded in Dowlers' 'Gloucestershire Clock and Watchmakers' book as working in 1820- 1822 in Silver Street.
Height 6ft 6 1/2 " / 199cms.
