Heap of London Georgian Convex Dial Wall Clock


A Georgian convex fusee dial antique clock. A 12" painted dial signed 'HEAP LONDON' with blued steel hands. A well proportioned, slim mahogany case with a cast brass bezel surround and convex glass. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee mechanism. An earlier example with dial feet through the mahogany case rather than screwed. Circa 1810.
Richard Heap of Maiden Lane, London is recorded in Baillies' ' Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' book as working from 1802-1825.
