Nice early 19th century coffee can by the Liverpool Herculaneum manufactory, c.1810, with a finely painted central reserve of a landscape scene with some travellers pausing for rest at a bridge over a stream, probably by Samuel Williams. Wide gilded rim and handle (type 1 shape).

It measures 6.7cm (2 5/8") high, 6.7cm (2 5/8") rim to rim and 9cm (3 1/2") rim to handle. Condition is very good but there is a hairline across the bottom of the handle. Surface wear is very light, just slight wear to the top of the rim. The enamel painting is excellent. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
