Imposing German Pier Mirror


Circa 1870. A mid Victorian German carved and gilded and gesso pier mirror on stand, stenciled on the back is “Dr A Wendelbuch. / Bonn”. With a large medallion with a lady’s face with ribbons and swags with foliate casting, flanked by a pair of cherubs, mirror in a beaded gilded frame with further foliate carving and pattern designs, top to bottom. The mirror rests on a marble topped stand which sits neatly on four fluted legs topped with foliate carving and a small framed mirror to the back.
