Charming Italian Giltwood Table - Folding - c1880
A very pleasing late 19th century antique Italian folding serving table presented in good condition.
The table folds and opens with ease and is designed with both stability and lightness in mind. Perfect for presenting refreshments to guests.
A serpentine edged tray top with floral detailing rides over the X-frame base section. The table displays gilt throughout which is intact with the exception of the areas as seen in the images. The resultant feel is that of high end shabby chic and hugely desirable as a decorative piece of antique furniture.
At one end a handle extends when in the closed position - a nice detail and useful to allow the table to be hung in a cupboard (or displayed on a wall) when not in service.
The table is perfectly proportioned and offers the versatility to serve as an occasional table or in permanent service as a lamp or display table.
Overall this interesting table is a wonderful and stylish piece of antique furniture that offers terrific interest and it will be at home in any location.
