John Port Of Manchester Victorian Safe

This impressive Victorian safe, crafted by John Port of Manchester, is in excellent antique condition. Its heavy hinged door retains its original painted finish, complete with working keys, a brass plaque with the maker’s name, a sliding escutcheon, and a solid brass handle.
This good sized safe remains fully functional, still housing its internal drawer, also with a working key. While minor imperfections are expected with age, its robust construction ensures security against theft and fire.
An ideal choice for home or office, this handsome and practical antique offers both historical charm and reliable protection for valuables.
John Port of Manchester was a safe maker active in the 19th century, with records of his work dating back to 1840. His safes were known for their fire-resistant qualities and were crafted with hand-formed steel, making them highly secure and durable
All measurements are done to the widest point .
