Jozsef Molnar Hungarian Oil on Canvas Still Life

We are delighted to offer for sale this beautifully executed Still Life oil on canvas by the Hungarian artist JOZSEF MOLNAR, who has signed the painting Molnar J. in red in the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts a display of grapes and peaches in a gilded tazza, alongside a similar goblet and tall glass flute, with a large ewer to the right. These items are displayed on a marble topped shelf with draped green material and vine leaves.
Jozsef Molnar was born in Hungary in 1939. He studied at the Jozsef Attila School and well as receiving private lessons. He became the pupil of the artist Karoli Szegvary and Peter Kloton. His work has been seen in many countries since 1968 and is in the manner of the Dutch Baroque painters.
His work mainly comes to the market on the Continent, but there are 7 auction listings for his paintings on artprice and 2 on findartinfo. As he is often confused with an earlier Jozsef Molnar, one of his paintings is wrongly listed on arcadja.
The painting is framed in a very nice ornate 2 1/2" swept gilt frame and is ready to hang.
