A superb unused 1950s Kigu Lucite basket 'Bouquet' loose powder compact. The compact is decorated with complex engine turned designs which look like a wicker basket. It even has a functional handle. Protected by the Lucite dome is a delightful reverse carved Lucite floral arrangement. The background tin foil on which the flowers sit makes this vanity suitable as a tin / 10th wedding anniversary gift. Lucite is a luxury plastic and so this vintage powder bowl is also suitable as a 1st / plastic anniversary present. The mirror gives an excellent clear reflection. The original puff and sifter are present.
The interior is stamped with the Kigu trademark signed 'Bouquet REG. DES.' All hinges and clasps work perfectly. This late 1950s powder compact will not need to be cleaned, as it was coated with lacquer by the maker during its creation. A black pouch is included with this item. Measures 5.5 cm and weighs 57.2 grams.
