This vintage compact is suitable for use with modern loose & pressed / solid face powder or as a handbag mirror.

The 1960 Kigu catalouge shows this model of compact. It is known as a 'Round 3" compact Daisy Perspex / Lucite insert in Gilt E. T. (engine turned) pattern frame'. As the description states the lucite dome is protecting the most adorable daisy with pink petals. The daisy is surrounded by pink flowers with green foliage. The gilt engine turned design is complex & beautiful - on both the lid & the base. The lid lifts to reveal a good mirror which gives an accurate reflection - a couple of subtle hard to see age spots on the mirror. The mirror bezel & interior of the compact have the Kigu 'all gilt jeweller's finish'. The powder well still contains the original protective waxed paper insert & signed Kigu sifter. The base is the typical Kigu design we know so well & which shows their 'goldsmith's tradition'.

This vintage compact mirror measures 3" & weighs 73.1 grams.
