Large 17thC Welsh Six Plank Oak Sword Chest
A rare large 17thC Welsh oak six plank sword chest of exceptional colour, patina and originality.
In remarkable condition and standing at full original height this rare early piece has the utmost presence. With the most wonderfully figured timber throughout, the best patina and skin imaginable. Complete throughout with original spandrels and hinges and lock plate (the hasp removed).
This is the best uncarved six plank chest we have ever seen.
Length 5ft 2.5" = 159cm Length of Lid 5ft 7.5" = 171cm Height 25" = 64cm Depth 17" = 43cm
