Large 19th C inlaid writing slope
A 19th Century decorative, inlaid writing slope with ornate carved gallery surround.
This writing slope measures approximately 18.75 inches (ca. 48 cm)wide, by 11.5 inches (ca. 29 cm)deep when closed and 19.25 inches (ca. 49 cm) deep when open, it measures 7 inches (ca. 18 cm)high to the top of the gallery.
The writing slope has a working lock and key, a tooled leather slope (measuring approx 15 inches (ca. 38 cm)wide by 12.75 inches (ca. 32 cm)deep, with new tags for easy opening attached. The interior has 3 drawers and a pen tray with 2 (I assume) replacement period style glass inkwells.
There has been a minor piece of restoration carried out to part of the raised gallery (not obvious, but mentioned for clarity).
