An attractive Victorian overmantle mirror. We date this overmantle mirror to the second half of the 19th century.

The mirror consists of a large central mirror flanked either side by turned columns. The mirror glass is thick and heavy.

There is a painted water scene featuring a stork in the centre at the top.

The rear of the mirror is fitted with brackets for securing to the wall, the mirror comes with a tub of spare parts that have come away from the mouldings, some of the parts will need to be replicated.

The overmantle mirror has a height of 56.5" (144cm), a width of 54" (137cm) at the base and a depth of 6" (16cm) at the deepest above the painting.

This lovely Victorian Aesthetic movement overmantle mirror remains in good solid condition with surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are some missing mouldings and some very slight signs of foxing showing to the mirror.

This remains a simple yet stylish and elegant Victorian overmantle mirror that would provide an ideal restoration project for someone with the requisite skills and would continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
