A top-notch antique paper knife / page turner made from an outstanding piece of antique tortoise shell with a bright patina and colours ranging from golden Champagne to deep Chocolate brown.

The magnifier itself is has a wonderful magnification, is clear and undamaged and a very usable desk accessory.
There is a makers mark for the top silversmith, Grey & Co. The firm was founded in London by William Grey in 1876 and from 1886 to 1936 was active under the name of Grey & Co.,
noted for their novelties in silver and supplied luxury retail establishments such as Asprey & Co (London).
