This is a large antique under bed storage chest. An English, walnut country house trunk, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.
Superb craftsmanship, with a luxuriant colour and generous proportion
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Select walnut stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
Corners delightfully accentuated with multiple through dovetail joints
Wide, narrow profile ideal for under bed use, or around a fireplace setting
Lid opens to reveal the desirably clean interior - perfect for linens or blankets
