This is a large antique Zanzibar chest. An East African, teak and brass storage trunk, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850. Wonderfully appointed and of country house scale, this trunk delights with its profuse brass embellishment and richly toned timber.

East African teak stocks display fine grain interest and deep caramel hues
Lavishly adorned with domed brass studs and strapping across lid and fascia
