Striking Art Deco moulded frosted glass vase by Sars, France c1925. Geometric design across its amber coloured glass body. Moulded signature to its base. The vase measures 30.5 cm in height.
The vase is in very good original condition commensurate with age. No cracks or restoration. Very minor signs of age/use. "Fleabites" to internal aspect of its rim only (shown in images). The body has some trapped air bubbles from original - one extended (also shown in images). Please see images as these form an important part of the description.

The village of Sars-Poteries in northern France once had two glassworks employing up to 800 people. Owned by Henri Imbert, they thrived for over a century from 1802 – becoming known for making milky-glass flasks and ornaments, which are now collectors' pieces. Global recession together with the growing mechanisation of glass-making resulted in financial difficulties and the halting of production in 1937 - a halt which proved to be permanent, devastating the local economy. Today the museum “MusVerre” is built on the site of Chateau Imbert, the former owner’s home. Viewing welcomed - please contact us in advance.
