Vintage mid 20th.c. butcher’s block with drawers c.1960. Almost 4 feet long with a fabulous 7″ deep slab of end grain beech blocks worn to a smooth curve by years of use. Surrounded by a beech frame with raised back, a long slot for knives, iron tightening bolts and large exposed dove tails. On a sturdy base with two useful large drawers with original aluminium handles. Square legs with simple moulded detail and feet also protected with aluminium. Branded marks for a butchers in the Belgian city of Gent. Good condition, cleaned and treated with linseed oil in our workshops. Potentially the block could be turned over to give a flat surface if preferred.
