Large c19th French Repousse mirror repousse mirror overmantle mirror hall mirror %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Fabulous and unusually large late 19th French "Repousse" mirror with a cushion frame and in lovely original condition.
The cushion frame refers to the four further original mirror plates which are set into the frame on an angle which gives a wonderful effect when either looking directly at the mirror, or if you see it from the side if you know what I mean?!
Good proportions to the mirror and it can be hung as shown here as "portrait" or you could hang it "landscape" too.
All the original brass plated mounts are there and has a beautiful mellow finish to it which works so very well with the ebonised frame.
Great unusual mirror and certainly a decorative piece that will hang as an overmantle mirror, but also on its own as a hall or console table mirror.
Measuring:
Height 48 inches or 122 cm
Width 40 inches or 101 cm
