This is a large fine antique gentleman's wardrobe compactum. An English, walnut bedroom cabinet by Gillow and Co of Lancaster, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.
A grand wardrobe of the first order - a testament to Gillows' craftsmanship
Displays a desirable aged patina and superb order throughout
Select walnut shows bountiful grain interest and beautiful caramel hues
Original bowed glass and quality, bevelled mirror plates present
Setting the tone, substantial carved pediments sit above the whole
Decorative carved finishes abound with dentil mouldings and gadrooned borders
Gallery upper residing over a central cabinet door, decorated with striking carved masque
Distinctive bowed doors with clear, bright glass complete the elegant galleried area
Wardrobe doors beam with generous mirror plates and demi-lune carved scene
Fitted interior with brass hanging rails and a set of hooks for smaller items
Of graceful bow front form, an arrangement of two over three drawers
Two side drawers sit within the base beneath each wardrobe door
Dressed throughout with quality brass drop handles with pierced foliate backplates
Inset locks to every opening — keys present for the wardrobe doors

Standing upon short bracket feet with carved motif at front and full-width foot to rear
