Large French adjustable bookcase on cabinet
Wonderful and very unusual French late 19th century Louis Philippe style mahogany glazed top bookcase of grand proportions with fully adjustable shelves, circa 1880.
The base section with those fabulous sectional veneer panel doors, opens up to three full width drawers for storage, with original brass handles and escutcheons.
Super quality piece of very impressive and functional antique furniture, whether it’s a bookcase, drinks cabinet, housekeepers cupboard or would also work as a bedroom storage piece with fabric lined doors perhaps.
The top section dismantles so it is an easy piece to move / deliver!
Measuring:
100 1/2 inches or 255 cm high
58 1/4 inches or 148 cm wide
21 1/4 inches or 54 cm depth of base section
15 inches or 38 cm depth of top section
13 inches or 33 cm internal top depth Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
