Large French giltwood sofa settee chaise longue
Antique large quality French giltwood sofa settee chaise longue.
Huge, rare and attractive....better than most....lovely detailed decoration, with patination, wear and charm. Dates from the early 20C.
Solid, heavy and strong, with no loose joints. Good comfortable sprung seat, with no nasty lumps and bumps. No woodworm.
Great proportions and styling, which would look amazing in the right location.
The upholstery is old, but of high quality with very little wear and no major marks. It is a long pile fabric, which tends to reflect light in different ways depending upon which way the fibres are laying, making flattering photographs difficult. Feather cushions, horsehair and other materials have been used. Sprung seat.
Overall maximum dimensions:
280cmW x 90cmD x 112cmH (40cmH when sat on).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture. We have not inspected beneath the upholstery.
Please note that this item is very large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide strong able bodied persons for our driver to assist with carrying.
