Large Georgian Mahogany Wardrobe Armoire
Large Georgian 19C (possibly Regency or early Victorian) inlaid mahogany linen press with later alterations
Impressive split arch pediment cornice and front veneers.
Grand and opulent proportions and styling.
Historic cracking that has been filled and stabilised.
There is an indentation and mark on the right hand side at the top of the bottom half - unsure of the origin - see photos.
The press slides are later and fairly crudely constructed, but are strong and slide freely. We have a key to the cupboard only, but not for the drawers whose locks are consequently untested.
The handles are not original.
Oak/ash lined drawers slide freely. Inside the drawers there are partial blue paper linings, with stains and marks.
Historic repairs near to the cupboard door hinges. Historic worm holes (as is usual), believed extinct, but have been treated for good measure. Historic knocks, marks, repairs, scratches, cracks and alterations, as is common....
This item splits into 2 halves for transport.
Max. overall dimensions
1365mmW x 550mmD x 2520mmH. (Bottom 1150mmH, Top 1370mmH).
Please note that this wardrobe is very large and very heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able bodied person for our driver to assist in carrying the wardrobe.
