Very impressive early 19th.c. Flemish oak wardrobe or armoire c.1800. Very nearly eight feet wide at the cornice. Right hand door fitted with a hanging rail plus a single drawer in the base, left hand fitted with two shelves and two drawers (internal depth 24″) Very heavily constructed in pale oak with massive overhanging moulded cornice over shaped raised and fielded panel doors with deep moulded surrounds. Large brass hinges and pierced escutcheon plates (unusually there are two locks to each door). Canted corners, fielded panel sides and an applied moulding around the base. Solid oak shelves, drawer linings and backboards. Nicely shaped replacement feet, also in solid oak. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
