Large Pair Antique Gilt Oval Wall Mirrors. Nosotti


Stunning pair of antique giltwood oval wall mirrors, made by Charles Nosotti dating from 1870.
The decoration is very finely executed with a central cartouche crest, flanked by foliage and intertwined ribbon detail.
The apron decoration is of similar high quality.
The original water/oil gilding has a wonderful overall antique feel.
Both frames retaining their original mirror plates with only minor foxing.
Original untouched backing boards and both frames retaining their C. Nosotti brass labels.
Sizes 138 cm tall X 72 cm wide.

Notes. Charles Nosotti came to London in the 1830's and soon established himself as one of top makers of looking glasses, receiving the Royal warrant from Queen Victoria, his workshop / showroom was at 398-399 Oxford Street.
