Large PILKINGTON Royal Lancastrian Gordon Forsyth Arts and Crafts Large Lustre Vase c.1909 27cm high.
A beautiful fine quality tall Pilkington's Royal Lancastrian Pottery Lustre vase by Gordon Forsyth. Finely potted hexagonal form it is decorated with exotic birds on red shield emblems with alternating silver lustre intertwined arts & crafts stylised plant panels. The firing / glaze is good, even and well defined.
It is fully marked to the base with impressed Lancastrian mark and artist monogram for Gordon Forsyth.
Date: Circa 1909.
Size: 27cm high.
Condition: In excellent condition - the vase has received a professional restoration to a minor hairline crack where the elongated neck meets the bulbous body and is therefore inconspicuous. This work has been carried out by a leading ceramics conservationist to ensure a top quality and almost invisible repair with no expense spared. The rest of the vase is free of any blemishes.
