Large super king size French cherrywood sleigh bed
This is a very large super king size French sleigh bed. It is made in cherry wood and I would imagine that it was made in the last twenty years. The bed has a lot of quality. Look at the huge scroll ends. It is large and robust and is very beautiful with its sweeping curves.
The bed comes with its original long side arms and French screws and it bolts together tightly. It has its thick centre beams. You will need to get some slats cut to go across the bed to form a base for your mattress. These are readily available from any builders merchants and are inexpensive. The bed takes a king size mattress.
The bed is in generally good condition. Scuffing as you would expect in a vintage bed. Originally I think the bed would have divan drawers under the bed but now there is a good space under the bed for storage and the aesthetics of the bed aren't lost with their omission. There is one old repair. See last photo. This is strong.
This is a very romantic looking bed. It would have cost a small fortune new. It will look wonderful in a modern or antique setting.
The bed splits for transport.
The bed takes a super kingsize mattress, up to 73 inches wide and 79 inches long.
