A lovely walnut dresser. We date this dresser to the late 19th century.

The dresser is supplied in two sections. The top shelf section and the base section.

The dresser sits on a stepped base above four ball feet.

The top section features a gallery of a full length shelf with attractive carved front supports. The panelled back has a stepped cornice with attractive carvings below. There is a small shelf with a front gallery to the centre of the back panel.

The base section consists of a lovely marble top of reds and greys over two drawers fitted with ornate brass drop handles. Below there is a full width cupboard with two side hinged ornately carved doors. The drawers and cupboard are fitted with locks (keys are supplied). Below the cupboard is an open shelf area with a panelled back and carved front supports which are repeated above at the sides of the cupboard doors.

The dresser has an overall height of 63" (160cm), a base table top height of 39" (100cm), a base width of 46" (117cm), and a base depth of 19" (49cm).

The top shelf has a depth of 11” (28cm).

This lovely walnut dresser remains in good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage, there is some minor wear to some of the edges from past use. The marble top has been broken into a few pieces at some time in the past but sits well in its inserted space. There would have been a small top gallery at one time that is missing and the top shelf has a slight twist.

This remains a stylish and elegant walnut dresser. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
