A very good looking chest on chest, or tallboy, that will look wonderful in any home. Huge amounts of storage for the same floor space as a single chest, this nine drawer piece is extremely solid, and very heavy. It is constructed from oak, hence the weight, and has the added charm of bog oak detail in the frieze just beneath the cornice.
It is raised on stile feet with a delightful curl feature typical of Welsh design. It also has reeded columns set in the canted corners. Over all a lovely piece of antique furniture that combines looks and style with immense practicality.
It has a couple of repairs to the drawer fronts, including one corner that’s been replaced, but that is reflected in the price and speaks to the long history of this 230yr old, George III, bit of antique furniture.
