A good sized late 19th.c brass bound military chest in solid camphorwood c.1880. As a fragrant and pest resistant timber camphor was ideal for use in campaign and travel antique furniture as the contents were protected whilst in passage. A fine example with well figured timbers and original bindings and corners. Excellent condition, restored in our workshops.
