Superb quality late 19th.c. burr walnut breakfront bookcase or side cabinet c.1880. Three glazed door cupboards fitted with two shelves to each. Exceptional quality cabinet making, featuring highly figured burr walnut veneers, satinwood herringbone crossbanded borders (repeated on the shelf fronts), inlaid boxwood and ebony marquetry work and three hand painted Sevres porcelain panels. Four turned columns across the front with inlaid flutes, gilded ormolu Corinthian capitals and rosewood veneered plinths. Ebony thumb moulded edge to the top with further ormolu mouldings also repeated on the door panels and plinth. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Keys supplied.
