Extraordinary late 19th.c. carved wardrobe and German conductor’s cabinet c.1880. Fitted with a rail for full length hanging behind the centre doors whilst the left and right hand sides are each fitted with six slides with original enamel labels named in German for sheet music for various instruments and styles. The musical theme is continued on the doors which feature pipes and lutes at the centre of carved walnut panels with Renaissance style ‘grotesque’ masks and scrolling acanthus leaf motifs. The carving continues on the cornice and plinth. Excellent quality with solid oak carcass, drawers and back boards. Disassembles into flat sections plus cornice and plinth for ease of delivery.
